French dressing

Make your own french dressing using this recipe and if you would like to make it more interesting then add some herbs or spices of your choice. For example add chilli for kick, lemongrass and garlic for an oriental spin or garlic and rosemary for something more traditional.


  • 6 TBS oil
  • 2 TBS vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1/2 level TBS wholegrain, Dijon or French mustard, or mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Put all of the ingredients into a bowl or screw-top jar, season, then whisk or shake until well blended
  2. Store in a screw-top jar in the fridge for up to 2 months; shake well before using
