Why workplace nutrition?

Inspiring and influencing employees to make significant, sustainable lifestyle changes

Connect your health and wellbeing by bridging the nutrition gap

The demands of work can have a considerable impact on employees’ eating habits. Many people will skip breakfast or lunch because of a long commute or time constraints at work and will feel sluggish later in the day as a result. Similarly, drinking excessive amounts of caffeine and indulging in the usual snacks of cake, chocolate, crisps and fizzy drinks is very common to boost energy, but often leads to lethargy and is detrimental to performance.

A lack of energy, focus and concentration is often blamed on many things. However, our performance is only as good as our last meal or snack. This is where our workplace nutrition programmes can make a real difference to individuals on both a personal and professional level.

Average annual cost of sickness absence per employee £600 (CIPD)

The business case

Employers are facing record levels of sickness absence, presenteeism, staff turnover and mental health related illness.

Poor diet is a major cause of ill health and with working adults spending a third of their waking hours in work, our workplaces are key spaces for improving health and wellbeing.

Employees who are in good health are less likely to need time off work and are likely to be more productive.

Providing a healthy workplace environment can improve recruitment and retention of a high achieving workforce improving the bottom line and creating a positive corporate image.
